Meeting the KS4/S3 science curriculum: A FREE course with supply cover paid*

This FREE one-day course aims to equip Key Stage 4 (England and Wales) and S3 (Scotland) science and physics teachers with the skills to deliver the Energy Foresight Radioactive Materials and Electrical Energy programme in the classroom. Delegates will receive a FREE resource package that will enable them to teach this demanding subject area in an interesting, innovative and effective way to students across a wide ability range.

Teachers will receive three films - Radiation and Health and Managing Nuclear Waste on DVD, and the Electrical Energy, Production and Distribution on CD (designed for interactive whiteboard use), a detailed Teacher’s Guide including student activity sheets, and full access to the website.

By the end of the course, teachers should be confident in their ability to:

teach the Radioactivity and Electrical Energy aspects of the new science curricula

engage their students in the debate surrounding risk-benefit analysis that informs public decision making in this area

engender a critical approach to the analysis of media information

highlight the potential career opportunities that exist in the nuclear industries (including nuclear medicine) and in power production

Covering Costs: Find out more about claiming the cost of supply cover and expenses for Energy Foresight training*.

* Please note that for schools in the independent sector paid supply cover is not available.
