Meeting the KS4/S3 science curriculum: A FREE course with supply cover paid*
This FREE one-day course aims to equip Key Stage 4 (England and Wales) and S3 (Scotland) science and physics teachers with the skills to deliver the Energy Foresight Radioactive Materials and Electrical Energy programme in the classroom. Delegates will receive a FREE resource package that will enable them to teach this demanding subject area in an interesting, innovative and effective way to students across a wide ability range.
Teachers will receive three films - Radiation and Health and Managing Nuclear Waste on DVD, and the Electrical Energy, Production and Distribution on CD (designed for interactive whiteboard use), a detailed Teacher’s Guide including student activity sheets, and full access to the website.
By the end of the course, teachers should be confident in their ability to:

teach the Radioactivity and Electrical Energy aspects of the new science curricula |

engage their students in the debate surrounding risk-benefit analysis that informs public decision making in this area |
|
engender a critical approach to the analysis of media information |
|
highlight the potential career opportunities that exist in the nuclear industries (including nuclear medicine) and in power production |
